Engineered Hardwood flooring is real wood flooring, but is more stable than solid wood. Engineered Hardwood flooring is a product made up of a core of hardwood, plywood or HDF and a top layer of hardwood veneer that is glued on the top surface of the core and is available in almost any hardwood species.
Engineered Hardwood is produced with three to five layers of hardwood. Each layer is stacked in a cross-grain configuration and bonded together under heat and pressure. As a result, Engineered Hardwood flooring is less likely to be affected by changes in humidity while the multiple wood layers in Engineered Hardwood make it very durable.
